ABOUT US

We currently have a team of over 25 young riders in training with us, as well as a group of adults, who are passionate about learning and growing their relationship with horses. We believe in fostering a supportive, drama-free environment where all riders can feel welcome, confident, and encouraged.

Our goal is to develop well-rounded riders who are not only effective and knowledgeable in the saddle, but also proficient in groundwork and horsemanship skills. We strive to create an environment that fosters success, allowing each rider to grow with confidence, skill, and a deep respect for both their horses and the sport.

A Focus on Horsemanship

We believe that effective riding starts with good horsemanship. Our curriculum includes an emphasis on proper horse care, ground work, and general equine skill-building in addition to riding. We pride ourselves on offering a well-rounded program that focuses on:

Ground Skills

Proper grooming, tacking, and horse care, as well as general skills such as wrapping or lunging.

Riding Skills

Building a strong foundation with effective and correct riding, focusing on the small details.

Respecting the Horse

Understanding and listening to the horse’s needs, creating trust between the horse and rider.

Safety

Emphasizing safe practices in all aspects of horse care and riding.

An Environment That Sets Riders Up For Success

Our location allows us to offer truly private lessons where riders can have undivided attention from their instructor, often with no other riders in the arena. While there may be an occasional boarder flatting their horse at the same time as a lesson, we never have more than one instructor at a time in the arena.

Our lesson horses receive top care, and we prioritize their physical and mental wellbeing. We’re strict about never overworking them, and we always respect their physical limits. We do not ask our horses to work if they are sick or unsound, or during extreme weather conditions, prioritizing their health and comfort. This creates horses that are happy to do their job and help you learn!

Opportunities to Compete

For riders interested in competing, we offer various opportunities to showcase their skills. Our students participate in both IEA (Interscholastic Equestrian Association) and local shows, where they are given a chance to grow their skills in a competitive environment. Our instruction is focused on developing riders who are well-rounded and effective, without taking shortcuts to win blue ribbons. We believe in training our students to ride properly and ethically, setting them up for long-term success both in and out of the show arena.
